Durham University Swimming Club are hosting the first inter collegiate swimming gala for over 5 years, writes Jon Reilly.
.We need teams of at least 4 boys and 4 girls from every college. We would like to see as many of the people that used to swim for a club at home at the gala as possible, but don't worry, any standards are welcome and encouraged to join in, especially as the pool is only 25 yards long!

We are not sure who the current holders of the cup are, we have our suspicions that it may be Collingwood, if anyone sees a swimming cup lying around their college could you let us know?
There will be prizes for the best 3 teams and a post racing social: TBC...

Your college president will send an e-mail round your college shortly with the details.
The individual events are 50 yards (2 lengths!):
There will be one male and one female entry from each college in each event.The main events will be the Freestyle and Medley relays, we need
4 boys and 4 girls for both.Don't worry if you haven't been in a pool for years, we will have an open practice session from 16.30-17.30 on the day before so you can practice!There will be a small charge of £2 per person to cover the cost of
the venue and prizes.
Email your college captain with the strokes you want to swim and an approximate time for 50 metres, if you have one, don't worry if not!
